The 900 volumes donated by the people were symbolically handed over to the Mayor Giuseppe Iaria with the request to locate a suitable place to the creation of a Public Library.
event was attended by a delegation of students from the Middle School "Corrado Alvaro" accompanied by the Principal Dr. Irene Mafrici. They also attended by the President of the Cape South Mountain Community, a lawyer Nino Palermo, the Councillor for Finance and the director Joseph Latella Municipal Carmelo Vinci.
After the introduction of Peppe Toscano, Chairman of the Cultural Club New Horizons and the greetings of the guests, took place over the list of volumes collected and a sheet bearing the memory of the day following:
"These books are a labor of love for the city. Our fellow citizens who have donated to hope that Melito emergence of a public library. To the Mayor, to which we deliver them symbolically, we efforts for the realization of this dream ". Members of the New Horizons Circle
And the mayor has taken its cue from this in his closing speech, Welcomes the initiative of the Cultural Club and a real commitment to ensuring the realization of the Library. "We plan to allocate the current Court, once it is moved in the building of the former prison, which we are restructuring.
